A RECORD-BREAKING jockey is coming to Uttoxeter Racecourse to talk about his illustrious career and promote a charity looking after injured colleagues.

On Friday, September 26, 19-time champion jockey Tony McCoy will be looking back on his career at a special event at the racecourse.

The night will include a three-course dinner, a question and answer session and a silent auction in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Sky Sports' Gary Newbon, who is comparing the event, will interview Mr McCoy live before the question and answer session kicks off.

Racecourse events manager Dan Whitehead said: "It's a massive honour for AP McCoy to come down and talk to punters about his incredible life and career.

"This was an idea we had at the start of the year and, because he's such a busy guy, it took a lot of work to find the right date.

"So we're absolutely delighted to have managed to secure his presence.

"Tickets are selling extremely well and we genuinely can't wait for the night itself.

"It's particularly pleasing that members of the audience will be able to speak directly to Mr McCoy and ask questions."

Tickets cost £50 plus VAT and can be purchased by calling 01889 562561 or emailing events@uttoxeter-racecourse.co.uk.

A table of 10 people can be accomodated for a discounted price of £450.

Dinner will be served at 7.30pm.

The racecourse has recently stepped up its events-hosting arm, having run a huge gig featuring reggae legends UB40.
