A NEW programme of autumn activities to keep adults active as the youngsters head back to school has been revealed.
The new term of the Active Adults programme is set to start this month with classes on offer throughout the borough including poetry and play reading, upholstery, art, craft, singing for pleasure, Extend and Zumba Gold.
Venues include the Heath Community Centre, in Holly Road, Uttoxeter, and Kingstone with Gratwich Village Hall.
Robert Hardwick, East Staffordshire Borough Council's deputy leader for cultural services, said: "Health and wellbeing awareness is something the council is passionate about and we have proved our commitment to this by becoming involved in the Healthy Borough initiative.
"This popular 10 week term programme is designed to give adults in East Staffordshire the opportunity to stay active, learn new skills in a relaxed, friendly and safe environment.
"This term we are pleased to welcome back Extend to Active Adults after taking a short break from the programme. Extend is an activity that can help to reduce the symptoms of age related conditions as well as improving mobility for those who have disabilities."
The Extend class will be run by qualified teacher Pat Miller on Wednesday, September 24 at Uttoxeter Heath Community Centre from 10am to 11am.
The classes cost £18 for 10 weeks tuition for East Staffordshire residents and £21.50 for non-residents.
