A FESTIVAL circus was a huge hit with children at a Uttoxeter middle school.

The Parents, Staff and Friends Association (PSFA) at Windsor Park Middle School welcomed The National Festival Circus into the school as an alternate way of raising money to the usual summer fair.

More than 100 people came along to see clowns, jugglers, plate spinners and magicians who kept them entertained all afternoon.

Many of the children got to go up on stage and have a go themselves and a spokesman for the PSFA said a 'great time was had by all'.

The event was also a 'great way of bringing the whole community together' as many children from the feeder schools came to support the event. In particular great support was received from Hutchinson First School in Checkley, but there were also children from several other first schools and nurseries.
