Heatwave tips given out by first aid team

LEADING first aid charity St John Ambulance is issuing advice to help people across the West Midlands cope in the heatwave.

The Met Office has declared a level 2 health alert, which is triggered when there is a high chance that temperatures will reach between 28 degrees and 32 degrees over two consecutive days and not dip below 15 degrees at night.

Nick Pitt, community training co-ordinator for St John Ambulance, said: "Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are the most serious problems that can develop when the mercury soars and its important to recognise symptoms."
