Oldfields still need to show improvement

A UTTOXETER school told it 'requires improvement' by Ofsted is not taking 'effective action' to tackle the problem, inspectors have found.

Ofsted's Peter Humphries carried out a monitoring inspection at Oldfields Hall Middle School, in Stone Road, on June 27, and found the school's senior leaders, governors and the local authority were 'not responding to weaknesses in pupils' progress, especially mathematics, with sufficient urgency'.

The school was told it needed to take immediate actions to ensure information on pupils' progress was used to plan lessons that demonstrate high expectations of what they can achieve.
