A UTTOXETER restaurant has undergone a transformation as it grabs a slice of the pizza action.

The Dapple Grey, in Town Meadows Way, was closed for a week last month as it introduced a new pizza kitchen.

To celebrate the launch of the new kitchen, manager James Peyton and the rest of the Dapple Grey team invited business leaders, residents and councillors to an exclusive VIP Come Dine With Me style pizza sampling night.

Mr Payton told the Post and Times: "It's great to be expanding our services for the local community. Our pizzas seem to be going down a treat with our customers, which we are so pleased about.

"Our new kitchen has for sure helped us to add another element to our food offering."

Customers will able to see the chefs creating their food before their very eyes with the open kitchen and it will be served alongside the normal food menu.

    Any sub-editor so tired of life, so lacking in imagination, as to write "Pizza the action" in a picture caption about pizzas should be shot, for their sake and ours.
