UTTOXETER secondary school pupils are to be offered a free flu vaccination as part of a programme targeting more than 700,000 healthy school aged children in England.

In Staffordshire the pilot scheme will see pupils in years seven and eight offered the vaccine as a nasal spray from autumn.

The pilots also aim to reduce the spread of flu and protect younger siblings, grandparents and others who are at increased risk of becoming seriously ill from flu.
