A CELEBRATION of a popular children's author is set to be held at a museum near Uttoxeter.

On Saturday, September 13, the Roald Dahl Workshop is to be held from 1pm until 3pm at Sudbury Hall and is to be run by popular children's author Rhian Tracey.

Children can soak up story time and learn some top-tips on story writing to discover their inner author talents.

It was Dahl's book The Witches that inspired Tracey's writing career, and all budding authors will be able to pick up some ways of creating special storybook characters.

Booking is essential by calling 01283 586800.

Places cost £10 per child and each child is to be accompanied by an adult.

Kat Ralls, learning officer at Sudbury Hall and the National Trust Museum of Childhood, said: "We can't wait to get dressed up and bring the wonderful world of Roald Dahl to life."
