Uttoxeter ambo bosses helping cardiac trial

WEST Midlands Ambulance Service has thrown weight behind a medical trial that may lead to many more patients surviving cardiac arrest.

Whilst the numbers of people who suffer cardiac arrest are relatively small, the survival rate for an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is just eight per cent.

Trust medical director Dr Andy Carson said: "Adrenaline has been used for years in cardiac arrest management but there's evidence it may result in poorer outcomes."
