THE first part of a major development which could see 750 new houses created in Uttoxeter have been revealed to planning chiefs.
St Modwen has submitted a detailed planning application to East Staffordshire Borough Council's planning committee to build 58 houses on land west of Uttoxeter, between Bramshall Road and the A50.
The houses will be phase one of the development and will include the provision of green infrastructure, associated engineering works, access to Bramshall Road and associated internal access roads including demolition of Park Fields Farm and associated buildings.
The area is currently agricultural land and contains mature oak trees together with hedgerows running from the north to south and east to west.
The site has already been granted outline planning permission earlier this year to create up to 750 houses with public open space and 10 hectares of employment.
The application states: "The site provides an excellent opportunity for a development which integrates well with the existing residential areas of Uttoxeter.
"The site has opportunity to establish a sustainable development which is both physically and visually well contained."
It adds that future connection is required towards the north and A50.
Residents can share their thoughts and comments on the plans until August 20 through East Staffordshire Borough Council's website.
